RESUMO

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a typical cancer that accounts for 10% of all new cancer cases annually and nearly 10% of all cancer deaths. Despite significant progress in current classical interventions for CRC, these traditional strategies could be invasive and with numerous adverse effects. The poor prognosis of CRC patients highlights the evident and pressing need for more efficient and targeted treatment. Novel strategies regarding mRNA vaccines for anti-tumor therapy have also been well-developed since the successful application for the prevention of COVID-19. mRNA vaccine technology won the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, signaling a new direction in human anti-cancer treatment: mRNA medicine. As a promising new immunotherapy in CRC and other multiple cancer treatments, the mRNA vaccine has higher specificity, better efficacy, and fewer side effects than traditional strategies. The present review outlines the basics of mRNA vaccines and their advantages over other vaccines and informs an available strategy for developing efficient mRNA vaccines for CRC precise treatment. In the future, more exploration of mRNA vaccines for CRC shall be attached, fostering innovation to address existing limitations.

ABSTRACT: A 70-year-old man presented with combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma underwent partial hepatectomy and chemoradiotherapy approximately 3 months ago. Follow-up abdominal ultrasound detected a new small lesion with decreased echogenicity in the hepatic segment I, potentially indicating recurrence. The patient was enrolled in a clinical trial of comparison of 18F-FDG and 18F-FAPI PET/CT in hepatic lesions. Compared with non-18F-FDG avidity, 18F-FAPI PET/CT showed intense tracer uptake of the hepatic lesion. Resection of the lesion was subsequently performed, and pathologic analysis confirmed the diagnosis of recurrent combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma.

PURPOSE: This retrospective study aimed to investigate the effectiveness and safety of bronchial arterial chemoembolization with drug-eluting beads (DEB-BACE) plus chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone in patients with stage III and IV lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) who are not appropriate candidates for radiochemotherapy. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this retrospective analysis, we screened all adult patients undergoing either DEB-BACE plus chemotherapy or chemotherapy alone for stage III or IV LCSS at authors' center from January 2018 to August 2021. Each 21-day chemotherapy cycle consisted of intravenous injection of gemcitabine (1.0 g/m2) on days 1 and 8 and cisplatin 75 (mg/m2) on day 1. The planned cycles were 4. DEB-BACE consisted of microcatheter infusion of CalliSpheres beads carrying cisplatin (75 mg/m2) and gemcitabine (1.0 g/m2), at 3 weeks prior to chemotherapy. The primary outcome was overall survival (OS). The secondary outcomes included progression-free survival (PFS), pulmonary response, and adverse events (AEs). RESULTS: The final analysis included 95 patients in the chemotherapy group and 41 patients in the combination treatment group. The median OS was 14 months (95 % CI 11.0-17.0) in the chemotherapy group and 19 months (95 % CI 18.0-24.0) in the combination group (P = 0.015). In multivariate Cox regression analysis, DEB-BACE plus chemotherapy was associated with lower risk of death versus chemotherapy only (HR 0.16, 95 % CI 0.05-0.52; log rank test P = 0.003). The median PFS was 6 months (95 % CI 4.0-7.0) in the chemotherapy group and 8 months (95 % CI 6.0-8.0) in the combination group (P = 0.015). The pulmonary objective response rate (ORR) and disease control rate (DCR) were 48.4 % and 62.1 % in chemotherapy group versus 82.9 % and 90.2 % in combination group (P < 0.001 and = 0.001, respectively). AEs occurred in 133 patients (97.8 %). The rate of bone marrow suppression was 48.4 % (46/95) in the chemotherapy group versus 7.3 % (3/41) in the combination group (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Compared with chemotherapy alone, DEB-BACE plus chemotherapy was associated with longer survival outcomes and lower rate of bone marrow suppression.

INTRODUCTION: Suicide is a serious global public health issue, and a history of attempted suicide is the most critical indicator of suicide risk. There are limited studies on the effectiveness of psychotherapy in individuals who have attempted suicide, and other outcome measures related to suicide risk in suicide attempts have not been explored. AIM/QUESTION: This study aimed to systematically review and perform a meta-analysis of the effectiveness of psychotherapy on individuals who have attempted suicide. METHODS: This study conducted a comprehensive literature search of five major databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, Web of Science, and Ovid). The protocol for this study is registered with PROSPERO (CRD42023464401) and follows the PRISMA guidelines. RESULTS: This meta-analysis included a total of 34 trials from 32 literature sources. The study involved a total of 6600 participants. The results showed that psychotherapy had a positive effect on reducing the suicidal tendencies of individuals who have attempted suicide and effectively reduced the number of repeated suicide attempts as well as the levels of suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety and hopelessness. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE: This study concludes that psychotherapy is effective in reducing the suicidal tendencies of individuals who have attempted suicide. Psychological therapy for individuals who have attempted suicide are crucial in preventing future suicidal behaviours.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer and has the second highest mortality rate among cancers. The development of CRC involves both genetic and epigenetic abnormalities, and recent research has focused on exploring the ex-transcriptome, particularly post-transcriptional modifications. RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are emerging epigenetic regulators that play crucial roles in post-transcriptional events. Dysregulation of RBPs can result in aberrant expression of downstream target genes, thereby affecting the progression of colorectal tumors and the prognosis of patients. Recent studies have shown that RBPs can influence CRC pathogenesis and progression by regulating various components of the tumor microenvironment (TME). Although previous research on RBPs has primarily focused on their direct regulation of colorectal tumor development, their involvement in the remodeling of the TME has not been systematically reported. This review aims to highlight the significant role of RBPs in the intricate interactions within the CRC tumor microenvironment, including tumor immune microenvironment, inflammatory microenvironment, extracellular matrix, tumor vasculature, and CRC cancer stem cells. We also highlight several compounds under investigation for RBP-TME-based treatment of CRC, including small molecule inhibitors such as antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs), siRNAs, agonists, gene manipulation, and tumor vaccines. The insights gained from this review may lead to the development of RBP-based targeted novel therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating the TME, potentially inhibiting the progression and metastasis of CRC.

Dissolved oxygen (DO) is an important parameter that affects the biology, physiology, and immunology of aquatic animals. In recent decades, DO levels in the global oceans have sharply decreased, partly due to an increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide, temperature, and anthropogenic nutrient loads. Although there have been many reports on the effects of hypoxia on the survival, growth, behavior, and immunity of bivalves, this information has not been well organized. Therefore, this article provides a comprehensive review of the effects of hypoxia on bivalves. In general, hypoxia negatively impacts the food consumption rate and assimilation efficiency, as well as increasing respiration rates in many bivalves. As a result, it reduces the energy allocation for bivalve growth, shell formation, and reproduction. In severe cases, prolonged exposure to hypoxia can result in mass mortality in bivalves. Moreover, hypoxia also has adverse effects on the immunity and response of bivalves to predators, including decreased burial depths, sensitivity to predators, impairment of byssus production, and negatively impacts on the integrity, strength, and composition of bivalve shells. The tolerance of bivalves to hypoxia largely depends on size and species, with larger bivalves being more susceptible to hypoxia and intertidal species being relatively more tolerant to hypoxia. The information in this article is very useful for elucidating the current research status of hypoxia on bivalves and determining future research directions.

Metabolite profiling has the potential to comprehensively bridge phenotypes and complex heterogeneous physiological and pathological states. We performed a metabolomics study using parallel liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) combined with multivariate data analysis to screen for biomarkers of primary aldosteronism (PA) from a cohort of 111 PA patients and 218 primary hypertension (PH) patients. Hydrophilic interaction chromatography and reversed-phase liquid chromatography separations were employed to obtain a global plasma metabolome of endogenous metabolites. The satisfactory classification between PA and PH patients was obtained using the MVDA model. A total of 35 differential metabolites were screened out and identified. A diagnostic biomarker panel was established using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) binary logistic regression model and receiver operating characteristic analysis. Joint analysis with clinical indicators, including plasma supine aldosterone level, plasma orthostatic aldosterone level, body mass index, and blood potassium, revealed that the combination of metabolite biomarker panel and plasma supine aldosterone has the best clinical diagnostic efficacy.

Bivalves are a high-quality source of animal protein for human consumption. In recent years, the demand for bivalve proteins has increased dramatically, leading to a sharp increase in global production of marine bivalves. To date, although the amino acid profiles of many bivalves have been reported, such information has not been well organized. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a comprehensive scientific review of the protein quality of bivalves, especially commercially important edible bivalves. In this context, this study was conducted to evaluate the protein quality of commercially important edible bivalves. In general, most bivalves are rich in protein (> 50% of their dry weight) and amino acids (> 30 g/100g protein). Although most species of bivalves are rich in essential amino acids (EAA) (up to 50 g/100g protein), some species of edible bivalves have very low levels of EAA (< 5 g/100g protein). Based on the AA score, almost all bivalves have at least two limiting AAs. Most bivalve proteins provides delicious flavors with unami, sweetness and a hint of bitterness. The findings of this study not only serve as a a guide for selecting appropriate bivalves based on consumer preferences for specific AAs or AA scores, but also provide information on potential bivalve species for aquaculture to produce higher protein quality to meet the growing demand for high quality animal protein.

Melittin, a classical antimicrobial peptide, is a highly potent antitumor agent. However, its significant toxicity seriously hampers its application in tumor therapy. In this study, we developed novel melittin analogs with pH-responsive, cell-penetrating and membrane-lytic activities by replacing arginine and lysine with histidine. After conjugation with camptothecin (CPT), CPT-AAM-1 and CPT-AAM-2 were capable of killing tumor cells by releasing CPT at low concentrations and disrupting cell membranes at high concentrations under acidic conditions. Notably, we found that the C-terminus of the melittin analogs was more suitable for drug conjugation than the N-terminus. CPT-AAM-1 significantly suppressed melanoma growth in vivo with relatively low toxicity. Collectively, the present study demonstrates that the development of antitumor drugs based on pH-responsive antimicrobial peptide-drug conjugates is a promising strategy.

BACKGROUND: Osimertinib, a third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI), is the preferred treatment for EGFR-mutated lung cancer. However, acquired resistance inevitably develops. While non-coding RNAs have been implicated in lung cancer through various functions, the molecular mechanisms responsible for osimertinib resistance remain incompletely elucidated. METHODS: RNA-sequencing technology was employed to determine differentially expressed lncRNAs (DE-lncRNAs) and mRNAs (DE-mRNAs) between H1975 and H1975OR cell lines. Starbase 2.0 was utilized to predict DE-lncRNA and DE-mRNA interactions, constructing ceRNA networks. Subsequently, functional and pathway enrichment analysis were performed on target DE-mRNAs to identify pathways associated with osimertinib resistance. Key target DE-mRNAs were then selected as potential risk signatures for lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) prognostic modeling using multivariate Cox regression analyses. The Quantitative Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR) and immunohistochemistry staining were used for result validation. RESULTS: Functional analysis revealed that the identified DE-mRNAs primarily enriched in EGFR-TKI resistance pathways, especially in the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, where their concerted actions may lead to osimertinib resistance. Specifically, upregulation of LINC00313 enhanced COL1A1 expression by acting as a miR-218-5p sponge, triggering an upstream response that activates the PI3K/Akt pathway, potentially contributing to osimertinib resistance. Furthermore, the expressions of LINC00313 and COL1A1 were validated by qRT-PCR, and the activation of the PI3K/Akt pathway was confirmed by immunohistochemistry staining. CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that the LINC00313/miR-218-5p/COL1A1 axis potentially contributes to osimertinib resistance through the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, providing novel insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying acquired osimertinib resistance in LUAD. Additionally, our study may aid in the identification of potential therapeutic targets for overcoming resistance to osimertinib.

BACKGROUND: Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) has a high mortality rate and is the most common indication for heart transplantation. Our study sought to develop a multiparametric nomogram to assess individualized all-cause mortality or heart transplantation (ACM/HTx) risk in DCM patients. METHODS: The present study is a retrospective cohort study. The demographic, clinical, blood test, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI) data of DCM patients in the tertiary center (Fuwai Hospital) were collected. The primary endpoint was ACM/HTx. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression model was applied for variable selection. Multivariable Cox regression was used to develop a nomogram. The concordance index (C-index), area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC), calibration curve, and decision curve analysis (DCA) were used to evaluate the performance of the nomogram. RESULTS: A total of 218 patients were included in the present study. They were randomly divided into a training cohort and a validation cohort. The nomogram was established based on eight variables, including mid-wall late gadolinium enhancement, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, left ventricular ejection fraction, left ventricular end-diastolic diameter, left ventricular end-diastolic volume index, free triiodothyronine, and N-terminal pro-B type natriuretic peptide. The AUCs regarding 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year ACM/HTx events were 0.859, 0.831, and 0.840 in the training cohort and 0.770, 0.789, and 0.819 in the validation cohort, respectively. The calibration curve and DCA showed good accuracy and clinical utility of the nomogram. CONCLUSIONS: We established and validated a circulating biomarker- and CMRI-based nomogram that could provide a personalized prediction of ACM/HTx for DCM patients, which might help risk stratification and decision-making in clinical practice.

People tend to make positive self-presentations on social networking sites (SNS). We aim to compare people's attitudes toward others' positive self-presentations on SNS and its mechanism. The sample in Experimental 1 included 71 Chinese college students. We measured participants' attitudes to others' positive self-presentation, life details self-presentation, and demotivation self-presentation on SNS. Results from Experiment 1 showed that participants preferred others' life details self-presentations over positive self-presentations, and mostly disliked demotivation self-presentations. In Experiment 2, with another sample, we tested idealization, perceived interpersonal distance, stress, anxiety, and depression as mediators of participants' attitudes toward others' positive self-presentation. The results suggested that feelings of depression and interpersonal distance play a mediating role in the relationship between the self-presentation types and people's likability of these posts. The results have implications for understanding why people dislike positive self-presentations on SNS. Positive self-presentations lead people to feel more depressed and far interpersonally distanced from the sharer, and thus they are less likely to like positive self-presentation.

Aerosols play a crucial role in the surface radiative budget by absorbing and scattering both shortwave and longwave radiation. While most aerosol types exhibit a relatively minor longwave radiative forcing when compared to their shortwave counterparts, dust aerosols stand out for their substantial longwave radiative forcing. In this study, radiometers, a sun photometer, a microwave radiometer and the parameterization scheme for clear-sky radiation estimation were integrated to investigate the radiative properties of aerosols. During an event in Xianghe, North China Plain, from 25 April to 27 April 2018, both the composition (anthropogenic aerosol and dust) and the aerosol optical depth (AOD, ranging from 0.3 to 1.5) changed considerably. A notable shortwave aerosol radiative effect (SARE) was revealed by the integrated system (reaching its peak at -131.27 W·m-2 on 26 April 2018), which was primarily attributed to a reduction in direct irradiance caused by anthropogenic aerosols. The SARE became relatively consistent over the three days as the AODs approached similar levels. Conversely, the longwave aerosol radiative effect (LARE) on the dust days ranged from 8.94 to 32.93 W·m-2, significantly surpassing the values measured during the days of anthropogenic aerosol pollution, which ranged from 0.35 to 28.67 W·m-2, despite lower AOD values. The LARE increased with a higher AOD and a lower Ångström exponent (AE), with a lower AE having a more pronounced impact on the LARE than a higher AOD. It was estimated that, on a daily basis, the LARE will offset approximately 25% of the SARE during dust events and during periods of heavy anthropogenic pollution.

The comprehensive study of compound variations in released smoke during the combustion process is a great challenge in many scientific fields related to analytical chemistry like traditional Chinese medicine, environment analysis, food analysis, etc. In this work, we propose a new comprehensive strategy for efficiently and high-thoroughly characterizing compounds in the online released complex smokes: (i) A smoke capture device was designed for efficiently collecting chemical constituents to perform gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) based untargeted analysis. (ii) An advanced data analysis tool, AntDAS-GCMS, was used for automatically extracting compounds in the original acquired GC-MS data files. Additionally, a GC-MS data analysis guided instrumental parameter optimizing strategy was proposed for the optimization of parameters in the smoke capture device. The developed strategy was demonstrated by the study of compound variations in the smoke of traditional Chinese medicine, Artemisia argyi Levl. et Vant. The results indicated that more than 590 components showed significant differences among released smokes of various moxa velvet ratios. Finally, about 88 compounds were identified, of which phenolic compounds were the most abundant, followed by aromatics, alkenes, alcohols and furans. In conclusion, we may provide a novel approach to the studies of compounds in online released smoke.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease with a complex pathogenesis and no cure. Persistent neuroinflammation plays an important role in the development of PD, and activation of microglia and astrocytes within the central nervous system leads to an inflammatory response and production of pro-inflammatory factors, and activation of NF-κB is key to neuroglial activation in chronic inflammation in PD and a hallmark of the onset of neuroinflammatory disease. Therefore, inhibiting NF-κB activation to prevent further loss of dopaminergic nerves is a more effective means of treating PD. It has been found that an increasing number of active ingredients in Chinese medicines, such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, terpenoids, phenols and phenylpropanoids, have anti-inflammatory properties that can regulate neuroglia cell activation and ameliorate neuroinflammation through the NF-κB pathway, and increase dopamine release or protect dopaminergic neurons for neuroprotection to improve behavioural dysfunction in PD. The active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine are expected to be good candidates for the treatment of PD, as they provide holistic regulation through multi-targeting and multi-level effects, and are safe, inexpensive and readily available. Therefore, this paper summarises that the active ingredients of some relevant Chinese medicines ameliorate the symptoms of PD and delay the development of PD by inhibiting glial cell-mediated neuroinflammation through the NF-κB pathway, which may provide new ideas for exploring the molecular mechanism of PD pathogenesis and developing new anti-PD drugs.

Objective: The aim of our study was to investigate whether the Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) correlated with gout in American adults. Method: The study used data from the 2007-2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, with 27,710 adults participating. Initially, multivariable analysis was performed, with controls for covariates, to assess the link of DII and gout. Then, restricted cubic splines (RCS) were applied to model the nonlinear relationship of DII and gout. Furthermore, propensity score matching (PSM) as a further study of potential relationships was established. Eventually, subgroup analysis was performed. Result: Participants within the highest DII quartile would be more susceptible to increased risk of gout in the univariate regression model (Q4 vs. Q1, OR = 1.31, CI: 1.05-1.63). Additionally, a positive correlation was detected between gout risk and DII after adjusting on drinking, smoking, gender, race, age, and BMI. Based on RCS analysis, we observed that the risk of gout raised sharply as DII values increased, then flattened, and increased sharply again when the DII was greater than approximately 2.5. After performing the PSM, it was observed that DII correlated in a positive way to the presence of gout on a fully adjusted multivariable model. Subgroup analysis revealed that the link of DII and gout showed no statistical significance in females, blacks, Mexicans, nor in the population that smoked. Conclusion: Greater degrees of pro-inflammation correlate with a higher risk of gout and might be a predisposing factor for gout. Hence, tactics fostering an anti-inflammatory diet for preventing and improving gout in adults should be regarded.

OBJECTIVE: The current study evaluated the diagnostic performance of serum (1,3)-beta-D Glucan (BDG) in differentiating PJP from P. jirovecii-colonization in HIV-uninfected patients with P. jirovecii PCR-positive results. METHODS: This was a single-center retrospective study between 2019 and 2021. The diagnosis of PJP was based on the following criteria: detection of P. jirovecii in sputum or BAL specimen by qPCR or microscopy; Meet at least two of the three criteria: (1) have respiratory symptoms of cough and/or dyspnea, hypoxia; (2) typical radiological picture findings; (3) receiving a complete PJP treatment. After exclusion, the participants were divided into derivation and validation cohorts. The derivation cohort defined the cut-off value of serum BDG. Then, it was verified using the validation cohort. RESULTS: Two hundred and thirteen HIV-uninfected patients were enrolled, with 159 PJP and 54 P. jirovecii-colonized patients. BDG had outstanding specificity, LR, and PPV for PJP in both the derivation (90.00%, 8.900, and 96.43%) and the validation (91.67%, 9.176, and 96.30%) cohorts at ≥ 117.7 pg/mL. However, it had lower sensitivity and NPV in the derivation cohort (89.01% and 72.97%), which was even lower in the validation cohort (76.47% and 57.89%). Of note, BDG ≥ 117.7 pg/mL has insufficient diagnostic efficacy for PJP in patients with lung cancer, interstitial lung disease (ILD) and nephrotic syndrome. And although lymphocytes, B cells, and CD4+ T cells in PJP patients were significantly lower than those in P. jirovecii-colonized patients, the number and proportion of peripheral blood lymphocytes did not affect the diagnostic efficacy of serum BDG. CONCLUSIONS: Serum BDG ≥ 117.7 pg/mL could effectively distinguish P. jirovecii-colonization from infection in qPCR-positive HIV-uninfected patients with infectious diseases, solid tumors (excluding lung cancer), autoimmune or inflammatory disorders, and hematological malignancies. Of note, for patients with lung cancer, ILD, and nephrotic diseases, PJP should be cautiously excluded at BDG < 117.7 pg/mL.

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A) levels are elevated in patients with asthma. Ferroptosis has been identified as the non-apoptotic cell death type associated with asthma. Data regarding the relation of ferroptosis with asthma and the effect of IL-17A on modulating ferroptosis in asthma remain largely unclear. The present work focused on investigating the role of IL-17A in allergic asthma-related ferroptosis and its associated molecular mechanisms using public datasets, clinical samples, human bronchial epithelial cells, and an allergic asthma mouse model. We found that IL-17A was significantly upregulated within serum in asthma cases. Adding IL-17A significantly increased ferroptosis within human bronchial epithelial cells (BEAS-2B). In ovalbumin (OVA)-induced allergic asthmatic mice, IL-17A regulated and activated lipid peroxidation induced ferroptosis, whereas IL-17A knockdown effectively inhibited ferroptosis in vivo by protection of airway epithelial cells via the xCT-GSH-GPX4 antioxidant system and reduced airway inflammation. Mouse mRNA sequencing results indicated that the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) pathway was the differential KEGG pathway in the OVA group compared to healthy controls and the OVA group compared to the IL-17A knockout OVA group. We further used N-acetylcysteine (TNF inhibitor) to inhibit the TNF signaling pathway, which was found to protect BEAS-2B cells from IL-17A induced lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis damage. Our findings reveal a novel mechanism for the suppression of ferroptosis in airway epithelial cells, which may represent a new strategy for the use of IL-17A inhibitors against allergic asthma.

Porous structure design and reversible regulation of pore size during adsorption-desorption are crucial to the removal of pollutants in water such as Cr(VI). In this paper, micropores and switchable mesopores were constructed on MCM-41 to further improve adsorption-desorption performance of Cr(VI) via the confinement effect of micropores and opening and closing of mesopores. 2-Vinylpyridine was introduced and polymerized into the pores and on the pore mouth of MCM41 modified by C═C group (AM41) under the irradiation of ultraviolet light. The obtained samples (PM41) possessed mesopores (2.73 nm) and micropores (1.36 nm), where mesopores could open or close under different pH and micropores showed the confinement effect because their pore size is close to Cr(VI) diameter (0.87 nm). Compared with MCM-41, the introduction of poly(2-vinylpyridine) enhanced obviously its adsorptive ability and it trapped most of the Cr(VI) (99%) in solution, 12 times higher than that of the parent sample. The change of pore size is favorable to the cycle performance, and after 3 times recycling, the removal rate of Cr(VI) by PM41-20 remained above 88%. Langmuir isotherm showed a better data correlation than the Freundlich model. Cr(VI) in solution was removed by electrostatic interaction between the pyridine group and Cr(VI) and the confinement effect from micropores.

Background: Indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence navigation can enhance the visualization of gastric cancer (GC) lesions, increase the lymph node detection rate, and reduce the incidence of anastomotic leakage in the treatment of GC. It thus holds considerable potential for application in GC clinical surgery and has attracted widespread research interest. The purpose of this study was to visualize the current topics and emerging trends in research regarding ICG in GC. Methods: We searched the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) for articles relevant to the use of ICG in GC. The resulting information was then analyzed from a bibliometric and knowledge graph analysis perspective using CiteSpace, Scimago Graphica, and R Studio so that the key trends and hot spots in research within this field could be identified and visualized. Results: Ultimately, 1,385 papers from 58 countries or regions published from 1991 to 2022 were included in this study. The largest number of publications were from China, followed by Japan and the United States. High-yield institutions were concentrated in Asian countries, especially China. The top publication contributors were Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Li Y and Bang YJ ranked first among the top 10 most productive authors and top 10 most cocited authors, respectively. World Journal of Gastroenterology was the most productive academic journal on ICG in GC, while Cancer Research was the most commonly cocited journal. The keyword "indocyanine green" was among the top 5 keywords, and will likely remain a popular topic in future research. Furthermore, the emerging themes including surgery, biopsy, lymphadenectomy, dissection, and gastrectomy have attracted increasing attention. Conclusions: Current research hotspots in this area focus on the clinical implementation of ICG in precision surgery for GC. Given the imaging tracer characteristics of ICG and its utility in GC surgery, the optimization and application of ICG-guided precision surgery techniques for GC will be a research hot spot going forward.
